Lin Kolb - Office Manager Bio
Lin works mornings Mon-Fri in the 4 Star office. She came to this position after working several years as the Program Director at the Arlington Y Tennis and Squash Club.
Born and raised in Davenport, IA., Lin began playing tennis in high school. She graduated with a BA in Psychology from Beloit College in 1970, an MA in Learning Disabilities from Temple University in 1972, and an MA in Education Administration from the University of Maryland in 1974.
As an adult Lin has lived in Arlington, Va. And overseas in Norway, Madagascar, Cameroun, Sweden and Cote d’Ivorie. She has worked both full time and part time in various capacities in training and program development with the department of HEW, as a Learning Problems Specialist/Supervisor with Prince George’s County Schools, as an education diagnostician with Specific Diagnostics in Rockville, Md., as NATO Base Education Advisor and consultant to the DOD School in Oslo, Norway, as the General Services Officer at the US Embassy in Antananarivo, Madagascar and as Budget and Fiscal VAT Examiner at the US Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden.
Tennis has been an ever-present thread throughout her life and she has competed at the national level in all the countries where she has lived. She has been a volunteer with the Joy of Sports Foundation and for many years with the Arlington County Tennis Association. Lin competes at the 4.5 level in local USTA, GWTA, NVTL and ACTA leagues. She has placed 3rd. in age-level women’s and mixed doubles at the National Senior Olympics, and has represented the Mid-Atlantic USTA at the 55’s Intersectionals in 2004 and 2006.
Lin feels fortunate to be able to combine her vocation and her avocation at 4 Star Tennis Academy.
