John Kratzke - Director of Adult Programs
John is in his first year of teaching at 4 Star Tennis Academy. He spent the last eight years teaching at Fairfax Racquet Club. His teaching philosophy centers on the development of efficient stroke production. With a background of biomechanics and physiology from William and Mary, he strives to develop fundamentals that will allow for more power without excessive stress on the body. For players suffering with tennis elbow or other joint ailments, he has been an integral part of the rehab that has allowed these players to remain on the tennis court.
John works with players of all ages and skill levels, however his focus is on high school players and adult doubles clinics. He strives to provide the access for players to improve wherever tennis may fit in their daily priorities. He also lets players know what level of commitment it will take to achieve more.
Competitively, John has been ranked in the top 15 as both a junior and adult player by the Mid-Atlantic Tennis Association. He has had great success in doubles capturing the Mid-Atlantic doubles Championship in 2002.
John is the Director of Adult Programs for 4 Star Tennis Academy; also he is a member USPTR. John was recently named Vice President of Junior Tennis for the Northern Virginia Tennis League (NVTL).
John resides in Vienna with his wife Elisha and their 4 year old son, Sean.
