Nicole Shabaz – Instructor
Nicole was born in Alexandria, Virginia. She began playing tennis at age nine and was taught by her father Vladimir. Later as a junior player she trained at The Junior Champions Center In College Park, Maryland, and was coached at that time by Lori McNeil, a for a former world ranked player.
In 2000, at age 14 years, Nicole was ranked #1 in the USA in girls 14 and under by the USTA. That same year she was selected as a member of the USTA training Team and competed in ITF tournaments throughout the United States.
From 2000 till 2002 Nicole trained at 4 Star Tennis Academy and was coached by Bob Pass, in 2002 she moved to Hilton Head Island, S. Carolina and trained at The Vandermeer Tennis Academy. She also trained with former touring pro, Patricia Hy and her husband Yves Boulais, from 2003-04.
By age 15 years Nicole began playing on the Pro Tour as well as continuing to compete in National and International junior events.
In 2004-05 Nicole played on the women’s college team at Cal Polytechnic at San Luis Obispo, California where she and her partner were ranked in the top 20 doubles teams in the country by the NCAA.
After 1 year in California Nicole returned to 4 Star Tennis Academy where she is now teaching tennis.
